Mombie…..Mum’s, Dad’s, Aunts and grandparents that are suffering with stress, anxiety, disconnection, chronic fatigue and low mood. Constantly ignoring them selves and self care because they’re so caught up with doing everything for everyone else. Does this sound familiar?? My reason for choosing this topic is that I have been Mombie to, going through the motions of work, parent, sleep… repeat, until I was in a zombie like sate living on caffeine to just have enough energy to just get through the day. How often do you put yourself first?? This is proving even more of a struggle most recently due to lockdown situation, as we find ourselves confined to our homes with our family members, leaving us feeling overwhelmed without any personal space to retreat to. Remember you cannot pour from an empty cup, so its important to keep our energies topped by making sure we commit to daily self-care. Here are a few simple self-care practices to keep your cup overflowing with energy over the coming weeks: Conscious Mindful Walking A walking meditation practice. Normally when we walk, we tend to daydream or ruminate over our recent problems or upsets. Instead of letting this happen keep your mind in the present by focusing on your surroundings. Notice how the ground feels underfoot, the wind in your hair or how the sun feels on your face. Be more aware of your environment, the flowers, the birds, the sounds, and the smells. During these uncertain times, make sure you take time to focus on YOU Baths have been a cherished part of our self care routine for hundreds of years. So if you are in need of a way to recharge and to take a moment to honour your beautiful self, follow our few easy steps to prepare and enjoy a gorgeous goddess bath ritual. You will need: 2 cups Epsom, dead sea or Himalayan salts 1/2 cup dried milk, coconut milk or oats 6-8 drops essential oils, ideally Rose, Neroli, ylang Ylang (or what ever you have to hand) Rose petals, dried or fresh (wash if using fresh) Crystals, Rose quartz, Clear Quartz (or what ever you have) Cup of herbal tea or glass of organic wine. Candles Preparing your bath ritual: Cleanse your bathroom with a sage smudging bundle, palo santos, or cleansing room spray. Add 6-8 drops essential oils to your bath Add your 2 cups of bath salts of your choice Place your crystals around your bath, rose quartz & clear quartz can be submerged in the water.
